The menu tag

This is a rarely used list tag that generally has the same sort of effect as the <ul> tag. It is intended to produce single column lists.

Here's an example

  • Newfoundland
  • Prince Edward Island
  • Nova Scotia
  • New Brunswick
  • Québec
  • Ottawa
  • Manitoba
  • Saskatchewan
  • Alberta
  • British Columbia
  • In general it does exactly the same thing as <ul>. According to the HTML 3.2 standard this tag can take the rarely used compact attribute.

    Browsers
All browsers handle this tag identically, producing a simple bulleted list.
